Top-level international sport and guests from around the globe will are expected at Zuchthof Klatte on the last weekend in August. Things will be lively at Zuchthof Klatte in Lastrup from 27-30 August. The CSI Klein Roscharden and the ESI Youngster & Foal Auction are both taking place there – for the first time, on the same weekend. Seventy-nine elite foals – many from world-famous gene donors from proven, performance-orientated dam lines – make up this year's foal lot at the 14th ESI Youngster & Foal Auction. For the first time in the history of ESI, 16 exquisite three-year-olds are being auctioned. 'The demand for high quality, young jumpers is stronger than ever, and many riders and investors are beginning to secure them when they are young,' said Henrik Klatte. A further premiere: the ESI Auction has been integrated into an international jumping tournament, the CSI Klein Roscharden. This is a natural symbiosis because many of the former ESI Auction candidates have been at home in the international jumping sport for a long time. 'Our customers are now able to show their horses at the CSI Klein Roscharden, a CSI2* with 2 ranking tests and at the same time, keep an eye out for new potential talent," added Mr Klatte. The advance demand is remarkable; certainly because of the wide variety of bloodlines but also because of the large number of satisfied repeat customers and friends of the ESI. The 'hit ratio' of former ESI foals and saddle horses that you encounter again in the national and international jumping sport is quite high! The most recent example is Qinghai with Guido Klatte Jr, who was able to win the silver medal in the team category and the bronze medal in individual at the European Championship of the Young Riders in Vienna Neustadt, Austria last weekend. Back in the day, Guido Klatte Sr discovered Qinghai from Quidam de Revel, breeder Helmut Fischer, at the ESI Foal Auction. The weekend sport programme begins on Thursday afternoon with a youngster tour of approximately 100 6- or 7-year-old horses. The programme continues with the presentation of the 3-year-old youngsters at 7 p.m. The special highlight: the 2015 free jumping champion from the renowned Z-Festival in Zangersheide, Belgium – a stallion from Darco x Corrado. The Middle and Grand Tour and the U25 Tour with around 230 horses and riders from 20 nations will begin on Friday. In the afternoon, the foals will be presented and the 14th ESI Youngster & Foal Auction with a total of 95 elite participants will kick off at 6 p.m. The foals' bloodlines read like the 'Who's Who' of the most famous and successful jumper gene donors in the world. The ESI Auction party with DJ will take place right after the auction in the large party tent. On Saturday, the main jumping event – an FEI ranking test – will start at noon and a gala Summer Night party with music and dancing is planned for the evening. Sunday will see the final tests of the respective tours and of course, the highlight of the day will be the Grand Prize of Klein Roscharden. The weekend will provide riders and horses with the optimal conditions – but it is also a must for the entire family. A social programme with exhibitions, various attractions for children, opportunities for shopping and much more awaits you. Daily admission is free. Welcome to Klein Roscharden! You will find information and the tournament schedules, plus the entire ESI collection, at www.equievents.de and www.esiauction.com.
