The start of the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping - China League moves closer - and ClipMyHorse will be live for the first time!
Saturday, 30th of April is the opening rounds for the 6th Season of the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping - China League. The first two legs of the league come together as a double event from the 30th April to 8th May, held in the most central equestrian venue,the Youth Equestrian Training Centre, in the heart of Beijing at Chaoyang Park. The sporting events as well as lifestyle activities will bring special highlights to the public for an unforgettable equestrian event.
The Chinese riders, waiting with curiosity, can expect a mix of new competition formats for this years competition. This year for the first time they will compete in ‘Take your own line’ and a ‘Speed and Handiness’ competition alongside the Longines FEI World CupTMClass. During the main events in Europe, spectators can expect the main event to take place on Saturday and Sunday but due to the national holiday the first event will take place on the 1st and 2nd of May, whereby the Grand Prix will fall on a not so traditional Monday. During the second competition the Grand Prix will come back to its more common format on the following Saturday and Sunday with the second Grand Prix on the 8th of May.
Alongside the best of the Chinese, international top stars will join the competition to fight for some of the prize money. Riders including Great Britain's, London Olympic Gold Medalist Ben Maher, Laura Renwick, Irishman Cameron Hanley who bases himself out of Germany and Bermudian Patrick Nisbett. Although Ben, Laura and Patrick all have experience in China joining the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping - China League in 2012 and 2013, it will be the first trip for Cameron Hanley to China.
Returning to defend his title, Zhao (Daniel) Zhiwen, winner of the 2015 - 2016 China League will look to repeat his performance after respectably becoming the first Chinese rider to take part in the World Cup Final. Daniel wont be the only Chinese with a fighting chance, for the ticket to the next Final, his team mates and competitors, Liu Tongyan, Bianba Ciren, Li Zhenqiang, Huang Zuping, Zhang Rui, Zhu Meimei and for Hong Kong Raena Leung und Patrick Lam will also be vying for a place in the Final.
Outside of the main arena spectators can look forward to the impressive exhibition stands that cant be missed. A mix of culture, lifestyle and fashion in the “Most Elegant Lady Award” supported through the efforts of our title Sponsor Longines are prevalent around the venue. “We want to show the public the fashion conscious and cultured group alongside equestrian raises the profile of the event.” says Ding Kuisong - Exhibition Organiser. Those who wish to dine during the day can look to the exquisite catering area, arranged by the Kempinski Hotel from their in-house restaurant Paulaner as the official catering partner with a diverse range of meals.
Once again the competition will be supported by chinas biggest sports channel CCTV-5 where both the qualification and grand prix from each competition will be live countrywide. In particular the organisers are proud of the new cooperation with ClipMyHorse.TV who for the first time will broadcast the competition in Europe for equestrian enthusiast around Germany, Austria or Switzerland can join the Chinese equestrian action.
