Stallion approval & elite riding horse auction from 29th -31th October 2015
As one can clearly see, there is reason to provide account and respect. More and more auction horses of the elite auctions of the Holsteiner Verband are placed on the champion lists of national and international competitions. Moreover, this year we have managed to compile a balanced selection of high ranking horses, selected according to the up-most rigorous criteria based on: ability, readiness to compete and overall health.
The 2015 riding horse selection is characterized by interesting and proven bloodlines: Casall (Ask), the current Holsteiner breeding stallion and sport horse role model is represented by four offspring. Last year, the top-selling elite riding horse, Dito, discovered and purchased by Australian show jumper Chris Chugg, was by Diarado, the celebrated 2007 champion stallion. This year, the Diamant de Semilly son has two offspring selected for Neumünster. Proven sires like Clarimo, Clearway, Nekton or Quidam de Revel are represented by offspring same as stallions at the beginning of their breeding career like for example Captain Fire, Cassilano, Companiero, or Uriko, to name just a few.
This year, the 36 three- to six-year-old auction horses listed in the catalogue are publicly presented for the first time at the Elmshorn Fritz-Thiedemann-Hall on 13 October at 7.00 p.m.. Prospective buyers have ample opportunity to try out and test the horses at the Elmshorn headquarters from 14 to 24 October. The last opportunity for clients to jump the horses is in Elmshorn, on 24 October.
At the Holstenhall, the horses will be presented over the jumps free and under saddle to provide interested parties with a concluding impression of “their” candidate. In the course of the pre-selection, Sigrun Günther, Wulf-Hinrich Hamann and Peter Glisic have seen about 150 horses and the auction manager is very satisfied with the quality of the selected horses. The offering includes horses with results in competition – some even with wins and placings to M level and qualified for the national championship – as well as a number of three-year-olds with an “excellent free jumping performance” according to Peter Glisic who is also drawing attention to some candidates for the American show hunter market and for eventing where Holsteiners play an important role.
The Holsteiner stallion grading 2015 About 60 two-year-old colts are presented for stallion grading at Neumünster by their breeders and owners. “We are going to see colts with highly interesting performance breeding and excellent jumping ability to match“ says Holsteiner Verband breeding director Dr. Thomas Nissen in the run-up to the Neumünster stallion grading, adding that “dressage enthusiasts will come into their own as well, considering the highly promising bloodlines of the dressage aspirants”.
The first crop presented for grading by Casall son Cascadello I, reserve champion and top-selling stallion in 2011, is of outstanding quality. The same applies to Casalito, another Casall son from the same age group. Companiero by Colman, who has produced promising (stallion) offspring for the Holsteiner breeding programme prior to his competition career under Christina Liebherr is two years older. Having won several S level jumper classes, nine-year-old Uriko by Untouchable is attracting more and more attention for his offspring.
Definitely no unknown quantity on the breeding and sports scene is Diarado, represented by offspring at the grading same as his sire, Diamant de Semilly. Baracuda by Baloubet du Rouet, Lenett by Loran, representing the L- sire line, or Cascor are promising young stallions with sons presented for grading at Neumünster. Interesting colts by outside blood improvement stallions, like for example Diamant de Semilly, Vivant by Fuego du Prelet, Spartacus by Stakkato or Cellestial by Cantus apply for Holsteiner grading as well.
Also the dressage sector is represented by highly interesting stallion candidates at Neumünster. Offspring by Totilas, three-times world champion under Edward Gal in 2010, De Niro, currently the leading dressage horse sire in the world, Krack C, Anky von Grunsven’s world championship contender, and Ampère, who has already sired three licensed Holsteiner sons.
Holsteiner evening
The “Holsteiner evening” is scheduled directly after the free jumping on Friday, 30 October at about 7.00 p.m. Same as last year it is going to be “short and sweet“ with displays showcasing Holsteiner horses in breeding and sport. The very best Holsteiner mares are presented, same as the successful Verband stallions under the saddle of the Holsteiner youngsters who have performed to great success at the German and European Championships again. Following a variety of other displays, it is “music and party” for all at hall 2.
